Dhaka is going to host an infrastructure exposition titled 'The International Bangladesh Infrastructure Innovation and Development Expo and Dialogue-2018 (BIID) from March 1.
The Sustainable & Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) under government's Power Division along with Power Cell and ExpoNet Exhibition is arranging four-day event.
The expo, which is ninth of its kind, will continue till March 4 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), in the capital.
Power Division’s additional secretary and SREDA chairman Md Helal Uddin came up with the announcements at a press conference in the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh auditorium on Sunday.
The organisers said this event is focused on basement of intelligent industrialisation that prioritises sustainable infrastructure and green building construction, renewable energy, energy efficiency & conservation, environment protection, green financing and safety together.
Some 143 companies from 14 countries will participate with their innovations and projects at the event.
International Energy Efficiency Day-2018 will also be observed on March 5 in particular at the of same venue.
A number of seminars will also be held with the presence of national and international specialists on different related sectors, including from World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Apart from these, products and innovations will also be displayed at the event including energy saving and environment friendly industrial products, electricity saving innovations, solar technologies and green infrastructure development ideas.
Power Cell director Sheikh Munir Ahmed, BIID-2018's principle consultant and brand ambassador Dildar Ahmed Tawfiqe, BIFFL director and CEO SM Farmanul Islam were present, among others, at the press meet.
The organisers will hold another press briefing on February 27 to inform the media about last moment preparations of the event.
