More than 10,000 new private passenger cars were pressed into service in Dhaka in the first seven months of the current year.
Statistics available with Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) showed that number of newly registered private car stood at 10,160 in Dhaka during January-July period of this year.
On an average, 47 new private cars were pressed into service in the capital city per day.
The number of newly registered private cars across the country stood at 11,307 during the period under review, the data revealed.
The BRTA data also showed that total number of registered private car stood at 0.34 million in the country since 1972.
