The month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2023 is set to begin on Sunday at the 'Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre' in the capital's Purbachal area.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the fair.

Director General of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Mahbubur Rahman said that all the necessary preparations for successfully holding the fair have been completed, reports BSS.

"Now we're awaiting the inauguration. The premier will formally inaugurate the fair at 10:00 am. The scope and coverage of the fair has also been extended," he added.

He informed that this edition of the fair will feature some 351 local and foreign stalls, pavilions and mini pavilions up from the previous year's tally of 225.

Besides, some 17 organisations from 10 countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, and India will also take part in the fair.

Mahbubur informed that to facilitate the communication of the visitors to and from the fair venue, a special bus service of the state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will be there as some 100 BRTC buses have been kept ready.

He said allotments of the stalls and pavilions have already been completed while the allotted organisations and firms have also decorated those. Besides, the 300-feet road has been made ready for smooth communication.

Apart from the premier pavilions, premier mini pavilions, general stalls, food courts, mini stalls, and premier stalls, there will also be a cafeteria where some 500 people can have food at a time.
