The month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF)-2022 begins today (Saturday) at 'Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friend-ship Exhibition Centre in the capital's Purbachal area.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the 26th fair virtually from her official residence--Ganob-haban.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi disclosed the information at a press conference held at the newly built venue on Friday.
All preparations have already been completed to organise the trade fair at the venue, he added.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 across the country, he said, it was not possible to arrange the fair last year. "In 2022, we are going to organize the international fair at the permanent venue."
A total of 162 stalls, including 23 pavilions and 27 mini pavilions, have been set up at the new venue apart from 15 food shops, according to a press release issued by the commerce ministry on Friday.
The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) in association with the Ministry of Commerce has organized the trade fair which will continue until January 31. The fair will remain open from 10 am to 9 pm.
