Dhaka CXO Summit 2018 held

Dhaka CXO Summit 2018 Saturday brought together senior executives from top local and multinational companies in a bid to uphold the importance of organisational and personal excellence for economic sustainability.

Lighthouse Bangladesh organised the event at Radisson Blu Water Garden Dhaka, powered by MasterCard, in association with RANCON and supported by Seven Rings Cement, said a statement.

The objective of the summit, which is the first in series to be followed, is to create a universal platform which will help leaders unleash and harness the ability to strategize, innovate, execute through exchange of ideas, resources and knowledge.

The summit opened with keynotes on Organizational Excellence, People Excellence, and Financial Excellence by Mahmud Hossain, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Grameenphone; Shwapna Bhowmik, Country Head, Marks & Spencer BD, and Hassan O. Rashid, Additional Managing Director of Eastern Bank Ltd respectively.

Four panel discussions on diverse topics including Strategic Excellence, Execution Excellence, Personal Excellence and Innovation Excellence were also a part of the summit. The panels consisted of a pool of renowned corporate professionals and thought leaders including Shehzad Munim, Managing Director & CEO of British American Tobacco Bangladesh; Syed M Kamal, Country Manager, Master Card, Asif Saleh, Senior Director, BRAC, and Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, among others.

The day-long programme concluded through an open forum of question and answer with Mahtab U Ahmed, CEO & Managing Director, Robi Axiata Limited; Anis A Khan, Managing Director & CEO, Mutual Trust Bank Limited, and Rokia Afzal Rahman, President, Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs. The forum was moderated by Najmus Ahmed Albab CEO, Lighthouse Bangladesh.

This summit challenged conventional wisdom and practice around personal and organizational leadership in a bid to prepare the future leaders for overcoming challenges.

“Our goal is to share the best resources and practices on organizational and personal leadership to ensure a sustainable economic growth at large. As Bangladesh in the wake of an economic boom, it is essential for both private and government organizations to ensure to foster their leadership qualities to face the rising challenges. The summit has been designed to help unleash the intrinsic qualities which are essential in pursuit of excellence in leadership, said Najmus Ahmed Albab, CEO, Lighthouse Bangladesh.

The summit helped in the identification of leaders, develop leadership roles and concepts, assess industry risks and opportunities for growth, and share ideas on addressing the rising challenges.

Representatives from banking and non-banking financial services institutions, local and multinational corporations, non-government organizations, and government organisations were in the participants.
