Denim Expert Ltd, a denim exporter, has joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to reduce carbon emissions in manufacturing garment items.
Climate Change is the much talked issue right now, which is badly affecting the ecosystem, and also when global consumers are more cautious about environment and sustainability, managing director of Denim Expert Ltd Mostafiz Uddin said in a statement.
"Considering the betterment of the earth for the next generation, our company has joined the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action alongside other brands and suppliers," he said.
Denim Expert Ltd is the first denim producing company in Bangladesh that joined the UNFCCC, urgently taking climate action in line with the goals established by the Paris Agreement, according to the statement.
"We pledge to limit our Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and support the world reaching climate neutrality by 2050," Mr Mostafiz added.
