Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) have joined an initiative as part of industry-academia linkage to develop business models.
Accordingly, the leading trade body and the private university will also jointly organise seminars, workshops, job fairs and business conferences, said an announcement made on Sunday.
The two organisations will carry out joint research for the greater benefit of the economy, under a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
DCCI President Shams Mahmud and ULAB Vice Chancellor Professor HM Jahirul Haque signed the document at the ULAB permanent campus, a news release said.
“It’s a milestone for industry-academia joint collaboration to cater for the future generation, to build a skilled workforce,” the DCCI President said.
He proposed that the researchers of ULAB would use the platform of Research and Innovation Bangladesh Foundation, an initiative of DCCI.
The ULAB Vice Chancellor said both parties would be able to work together for research and skills development. “But to give better output to the industries, we need to conduct more research,” he added.
