M. I. Cement Factory Ltd (Crown Cement) Wednesday donated Tk 0.5 million to the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) as part of corporate social responsibility activities, said a statement.
Md. Alamgir Kabir, Additional Managing Director of Crown Cement, handed over the cheque to Valerie Ann Taylor, Founder & Coordinator of CRP, at a programme at the head office of Crown Cement in Dhaka.
Alamgir Kabir said that CRP under the leadership of Valerie Ann Taylor has been playing great role in providing physiotherapy, rehabilitation and socio-economic safety to the physically disabled and mentally distressed people of Bangladesh for more than 40 years.
The CRP is also working on creating awareness in different segments of the society to bring changes in the mindset about the paralysed people, he said. “In continuation of the last year, we are providing the financial assistance to the CRP to engage us with the laudable activities of CRP,” he said adding that Crown Cement Group will continue this support in the coming years too.
Crown Cement Group Chief Executive Officer Masud Khan and other senior officials of the company were present at the function.
