The Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) will form a Citizen Commission after the general election to address transparency in the country’s banking sector.
The Citizen Commission will provide recommendations to the new government after finding the problems in the banking sector, said CPD’s Distinguished Fellow Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya.
He came up with the information at a dialogue titled ‘What do we do with the Banking sector of Bangladesh’ held in a city hotel on Saturday.
Terming the banking sector as the ‘heart’ of the financial sector, he urged the political parties to include certain assurance to keep transparency and accountability of the country’s banking sector before national election.
