US beverage giant Coca-Cola reported strong financial results in the third quarter of 2018, the company said on Tuesday.

In the three month ending Sept. 28, the Coke producer reported that its net income attributable to shareowners rose to 1.88 billion US dollars, while basic net income per share rose to 44 cents.

Unit case volume, an indicator to show how much product the company have sold, was 2.0 per cent higher than the same period in 2017, said the Atlanta-based company.

Organic revenues, which measures the sales from the company's core beverage business, rose 6.0 per cent in the third quarter, the company said.

As a result of the refranchising of company-owned bottling operations, the company said that its net revenues declined 9.0 per cent to 8.2 billion dollars, reports AP.

"We continue to be encouraged by our performance year-to-date as we accelerate our evolution as an even more consumer-centric, total beverage company," said James Quincey, President and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.

The company also estimated that its organic revenue will grow at least 4.0 per cent for the full year.
