Online-based local clothing brand Blucheez started its journey on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan inaugurated the clothing brand at an event held at Impetus Lounge in the capital, according to a statement.
“It is encouraging to see local fashion brands growing in Bangladesh and doing really well in terms of design and quality,” said Mr Hassan at the launching programme.
He expected cooperation from all to promote the local brands and hoped Bangladeshi brands would grow and reach international customers in the coming days.
BGMEA president further said that Bangladesh is the second largest exporter of ready-made garments in the world, but most of the products are sold under international brands.
“So it’s time to create our own brands and go global with products as we have both capacities and long experience in garment manufacturing.”
He also urged local entrepreneurs to invest in creating their own fashion brands and retail internationally.
Blucheez co-founder Simeen Zaman said, "We will put emphasis on the online process to make sure we bring world-class fashion trends. Besides, lab testing of the fabrics is done in order to maintain the quality.”
Blucheez founder Dr Md Kamruzzaman said, “We’re working tirelessly through our own designers to ensure that the clients get a variety of products that are great in quality.
