City Bank, one of the leading financial institutions in the country, disclosed its first-quarter earnings for 2022 in a programme on Thursday.
Current and potential investors across the globe, researchers, analysts and others involved in the capital market joined the event virtually, said a press release.
Md Mahbubur Rahman, assistant managing director and chief financial officer of City Bank, started the programme with a presentation on the bank’s financial performance for the first quarter of this year, followed by a speech from Mashrur Arefin, managing director and CEO of the bank, who briefly discussed the bank's current strategic position.
The bank's consolidated earnings per share (EPS) was recorded at Tk 0.83 for the January-March period of this year against Tk 0.97 in the same period last year. The bank also reported Tk 883.22 million Consolidated Profit after Tax for the January-March period, which was Tk 1,039.21 million in the same period the previous year.
In recent years, City Bank attracted a great deal of attention from investors across the world due to its noticeable growth among the PCBs and initiatives, the release added.
