CHATTOGRAM: The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has urged the government to exempt the export-oriented industries, and production and carrying of exportable goods from the lockdown restrictions to be imposed after Eid-ul-Azha.

In a statement on Saturday evening, CCCI President Mahbubul Alam said, "Imposing lockdown is necessary to save the lives of citizens. But I request the government to keep export-oriented industries, carrying of exportable goods and fishes etc. and production of exportable item exempt from the upcoming lockdown."

Welcoming the decision to resume lockdown measures, he appealed to the government to consider the export issue seriously.
