CHATTOGRAM: Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has urged the governor of Bangladesh Bank (BB) to control the price of US dollar in Bangladesh.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam has sent a letter to the BB governor in this regard.
In the letter, he said the official rate of one US dollar is Tk 88.50 now, while the rate is Tk 92 in the open market.
The high price of the US dollar is one of the main reasons behind the price hike of essentials in the local market, said the CCCI president.
"If the Bangladesh Bank can ensure the normal flow of the US dollars to the banks, the price of dollars will be controlled," he said.
