Finance Minister AMA Muhith has proposed VAT on e-commerce at 5.0 per cent in the budget for fiscal year 2018-19.
The businesses also involve those using Facebook for sales.
Earlier in 2015, he tried to impose VAT at 4.0 per cent on the same kind of business but failed to do so amid pressure from the stakeholders.
