Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Md Jahurul Haque, along with 10 representatives of the regulatory body, visited the Walton factory at Chandara, Gazipur on Monday, said a press release.
During his visit, he said that Walton is doing business in accordance with the rules and regulations. The company is working for the people’s well-being and contributing to the country’s economy.
Mr Haque further said that local manufacturers and the government are harmed due to the illegal import of mobile phones. BTRC is vigilant in this regard. He urged everyone to buy legal handsets manufactured in Bangladesh, and thus contribute to the country’s economy.
Walton’s deputy managing director Alamgir Alam Sarker, Executive Director Humayun Kabir, Senior Deputy Executive Director Firoz Alam, Deputy Executive Director Adnan Afzal, Senior Operative Director Fahim Rashid and First Senior Additional Director Milton Ahmed attended the BTRC chairman and his team.
