Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Sunday lodged cases against seven businesses in Dhaka Division on charges of measurement manipulation.
The cases were filed under the Standards of Weights and Measures Act, 2018, according to a BSTI press release.
Two BSTI surveillance teams conducted the raids at Savar area and Shariatpur district of Dhaka and lodged those cases.
BSTI Assistant Director Rezaul karim and Assistant Director Md Monnaf Hossain led the drive.
The businesses are: M/S Maa General Store, M/S Mr Sweets, M/S Haque Bakery and Confectionary in Savar area, and M/S Tamima Traders, M/S Atik Store, M/S Sardar Traders, M/S Eba Bakery in Shariatpur district.
