The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) awarded the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO certificate) to seven companies for obtaining and ensuring international standards in their management and quality.
BSTI Director General Dr Md Nazrul Anwar on Sunday handed over the certificates among the representatives of the seven organisations at a ceremony in the capital.
Among the award recipients, four received the certificate for their quality management systems.
The four organisations are RMC Chemical Company Ltd, BD Foods Ltd, Royal Cement Ltd and Management and Training International Ltd.
Three others are Nipro JMI Company Ltd, Siam Agro Foods Ltd and Igloo Foods Ltd (Frozen Food Unit).
“ISO certified” means that an organisation develops, maintains and continuously improves its business processes. This is accomplished by measuring and comparing business performance to appropriate quality standards.
