Brazil is seeking to facilitate trade with Bangladesh by solving existing trade barrier, said Brazilian ambassador in Dhaka Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior.
To this end, the Embassy of Brazil in Dhaka will open a commerce wing to facilitate Bangladesh-Brazil direct trade.
The embassy will also take steps to simplify visa processing for Bangladesh knitwear traders for promoting knitwear export to Brazil, said de Oliveira Junior.
The Brazilian envoy said it during a discussion with Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers Association (BKMEA) in Dhaka on Monday, as per a BSS report.
BKMEA President Selim Osman presided over the discussion on "Promotion of Knitwear Export in Brazil: unlocking the potentials".
"Brazil is one of the largest economies in the Latin America and it can be an attractive market for Bangladesh knitwear products," said Selim Osman said.
Bangladesh knitwear traders are interest to go for a joint venture investment in Brazil, he added.
Additional Secretary of Commerce Ministry Shafiqul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute Ali Ahmed, Director of the America wing of Foreign Ministry Seheli Sabrin, First Vice-President of BKMEA Mansur Ahmed and Second Vice President Fazle Shamim were present, among others.
