National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines will launch direct flights on Saidpur-Cox's Bazar route from October 7 and Cox's Bazar- Saidpur route on October 9.
Biman has announced a 15 per cent rebate on the base fare for opening the flights.
The opening flight in this route, BG 592, will leave Saidpur domestic airport at 10:30 am on October 7 (Thursday).
After October 7, Biman will operate regular flights, BG 592, on Saidpur-Cox's Bazar route every Thursday at 9:20 am and Cox's Bazar- Saidpur route, BG 538, every Saturday at 1:25 pm.
Biman has arranged air condition coach service to facilitate passengers to reach Saidpur domestic airport from Rangpur and Dinajpur.
Sources said, the new route will connect the people of the northern part of the country with the tourist city and contribute to boosting the economy and tourism.
