BIDA adds one more service

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) on Tuesday formally launched one new service to its virtual One-Stop Service (OSS) portal to help facilitate investment procedure in the country.

The new service is titled “Issuance of Trade Licence” by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).

DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh formally inaugurated the integration of the service, while Md Sirazul Islam, BIDA executive chairman, presided over the ceremony.

From now, a total of 42 services would be provided through 12 organisations.

The BIDA plans to give 154 services through 35 organisations from the current year.

Speaking on the occasion, DSCC Mayor Barrister Taposh said from now on, service seekers can get city corporations’ trade licence at home online means by sending proper paperwork and paying the prescribed fee, which will greatly increase the domestic and foreign investment and our Ease of Doing (EODB) Development will speed up in the country.

BIDA Executive Chairman Sirazul Islam said Bangladesh is now not alone in the international market, but it has many rival countries. So there is no alternative to improve the quality investment services to attract foreign investment enormously.

The move will help to achieve significant progress in the ease of doing business index of the World Bank, he added.
