A major event, which was scheduled on Wednesday to inaugurate 50 industrial units, projects and facilities in the economic zones (EZ) across the country, was postponed due to adverse weather.
Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) made the announcement on Monday deferring the ceremony through a statement issued to the media.
“The inaugural and foundation stone laying ceremony of different industrial facilities and infrastructures in the EZ by the prime minister scheduled on Wednesday has been postponed due to devastating weather,” the BEZA statement reads.
Seeking all stakeholders’ support in this regard, the statement said: “The next timetable to hold the event will be disclosed later”.
The event was scheduled to be held at eight venues to inaugurate commercial operations of 14 factories, seven infrastructures including administration buildings in several EZs, and the groundbreaking of 29 new factories.
