Bangladesh will allocate a special economic zone (SEZ) with all kinds of facilities to Thai investors if they want to invest in the country, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said on Thursday.
The minister placed the proposal at a meeting with a visiting Thai delegation, led by Thai Minister for Economic Reforms and Investment Dr. Kobsak Pootrakool, in the city.
One special economic zone will be provided to the Thai investors if they come up with investment proposals, said the minister.
The foreign investment in Bangladesh is protected by law, he added.
He also requested Thailand to sign an FTA (Free Trade Agreement) with Bangladesh to boost the bilateral trade.
