Dr Mohammad Nazrul Islam Bhuiyan and Dr Mohammad Ahsan Habib have been elected president and general secretary respectively of the Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research Biggani Sangha (BCSIR Scientists' Association) for the next two years.
Dr Md Hossain Sohrab and Dr Md Kamal Hossain have been elected vice-presidents. The BCSIR Scientists' Association election 2018-2019 was held at its office in the capital on Saturday.
Following are the other office-bearers elected in Saturday's election:
Joint general secretary - Satyajit Roy Rony, treasurer - Md Abdul Matin Sarkar, organising secretary - Md Amirul Haque, publicity and office secretary - Shafiul Islam Molla Jamal, publications and science affairs secretary - Md Mahafuzul Hasan, sports and cultural affairs secretary - Lutfun Nahar Hillary, social welfare secretary - Faridul Islam.
Executive committee members - John Liton Munsi, Mashudur Rahman, Sarkar Md Mahmudul Hasan, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, Dr Sadia Afrin, Sumon Mohajon , Md Farhad Hossain and Md Ripaz Uddin.
Md Mostafa has been elected research coordinator.
