The Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Thursday announced a new operational timing for the transactions under Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH) and Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS).
The new schedule will be effective from November 15.
According to the BB circular, the submission time for high-value clearing cheques (above BDT 500,000) has been extended by 30 minutes to 11:30 AM, and the return cut-off time is 2:30 PM. The time has been aligned with the new banking timing - effective from November 15.
The submission time for the regular-value clearing cheques (below BDT 500,000) has been extended by 30 minutes to 12:00 PM and the return cut-off time is 4:00 PM.
Bangladesh Electronic Funds Transfer Network (BEFTN) sessions, however, will operate as per the existing schedule during the period.
Under RTGS, all transactions will be available between 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
Customs duty e-payment, interbank fund transfer, and return transactions will be operated between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM.
But if any bank faces fund shortage, it will get additional 15 minutes for interbank fund transfers.
BB Payment System Department (PSD) director Md Badiuzzaman Dider signed the circular.
