British American Tobacco (BAT) Bangladesh has received the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) award in the category of corporate governance excellence.
After conducting a deliberate study on the annual report, the SAFA awarded the company with the international decoration for the second time under the manufacturing category, says a media release.
Md Azizur Rahman FCS, head of public affairs and secretary to the BAT Bangladesh, received the award on behalf of the company at a ceremony held in Pune, India recently.
SAFA is a professional organisation comprised of accountants of the SAARC included countries. The main aim of the organisation is to play for the improvement of the accounting professionals in south Asia.
SAFA deploys a committee to examine the annual reports of different organisations of south Asia under the terms of transparency, liability and good governance.
BAT Bangladesh always safeguards and upholds transparency, liability and good governance in business operation. As result of these efforts BAT Bangladesh wins the award, says the release.
