Russell T Ahmed was elected as the president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) for 2022-2023 tenure on Tuesday, according to a press release.
Besides, Samira Zuberi Humika was elected as the senior vice-president of BASIS, the apex body of the country's IT industry while Abu Daud Khan was elected vice-president (admin) and Fahim Ahmed as vice-president (finance).
The new BASIS executive members are Habibullah Neyamul Karim, AKM Ahmedul Islam Babu, Mushfiqur Rahman, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Tanvir Hossain Khan, Md Mostafizur Rahman Sohel, and Rashed Kabir.
Earlier, the election of the BASIS Executive Council was held on Sunday at Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation in the city's Gulshan-1, the press release added.
The names of the new leaders of the association were declared by chief of the election board SM Kamal at BASIS office on Tuesday.
