Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu feels that the investment opportunity of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs in the trillion dollar Indian economy is vast.
The minister said it while inaugurating the "30th Industrial Indian Trade Fair (IITF) at Kolkata in India on Friday.
Using the example of Bangladeshi industry giant PRAN RFL, Amu said, "Meantime Bangladeshi renowned entrepreneur - PRAN RFL has come forward and started implementing their investment plans in Tripura keeping an eye on the markets in its neighboring states".
More Bangladeshi entrepreneurs will soon follow suit, feels Amu.
A BSS report citing a release said the Industries Minister also invited Indian entrepreneurs to invest in Special Economic Zones (SEZs) set up by the government in Bangladesh.
"The government of Bangladesh is setting up 100 SEZs for foreign and local investment. The investors of India especially North Eastern region may take advantage of the attractive package of incentives offered by the government at the Economic Zones," he said.
Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BNCCI), the oldest Chamber of Commerce in India, orgainsed the fair to expand trade and business in eastern and north-eastern regions of India.
Amu said, there have been some forward looking steps taken by both the Bangladesh and India regarding connectivity encompassing transit and trans-shipment facilities in India.
"This scribe feels that the relations between the two countries are headed for better times, and both have entered into a dynamic phase of mutual cooperation," he added.
He expressed his confidant that the Industrial Trade Fair will be an effective podium for all the stakeholders of participating countries, including global minds, experts, policymakers, brands and suppliers, under the one roof where they would share their thoughts and expertise.
