The four-day 'Bangladesh Furniture and Interior Decor Expo-2018' will begin tomorrow (Sunday) to showcase the strength of the country’s furniture and home furnishing sectors to both global and local buyers.
Commerce minister Tofail Ahmed is expected to inaugurate the event to be held at International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital.
Selim H Rahman, president of Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners Association, announced it at a meet the press held at Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) in the city
EPB vice chairman Bijoy Bhattacharjee said that they are jointly organising the expo with the private sector for the fifth time aiming to showcase the world class products before the buyers’ who are mainly foreigners.
Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh, the Furniture Exporters Association, the Bangladesh Handicrafts Manufacturers and Exporters Association, the Bangladesh Jute Diversified Products Manufactures and Exporters Association and the Bangladesh Furniture Industries Owners Association in collaboration with Jute Diversification Promotion Centre are jointly organising the expo.
Organizers said that a total of 19 companies, including 10 furniture and nine home décor are taking part in the expo.
