BD, Bhutan sign five bilateral documents

Bangladesh and Bhutan have signed five instruments aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation on inland waterways, health, agriculture, tourism sectors and Public Administration Training Centres.

The instruments were signed after official talks between Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering at the former's office, or Prime Minister's Office, in Dhaka city on Saturday.

The two prime ministers witnessed the signing ceremony.

The MoU on the use of inland waterways was for transportation of trade and cargoes between the two countries, local media reported.

Earlier at 10:00am on the second day of his four-day visit, Lotay Tshering arrived at the office of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the capital to hold bilateral talks with his counterpart.

On his arrival, Sheikh Hasina received him at the Tiger Gate and then both the leaders moved to the meeting room.

After a tete-a-tete, they held the official talks.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led the Bangladesh side while her Bhutanese counterpart Lotay Tshering the Bhutan side.
