A three-day 10th Asia Pharma Expo-2018 kicked off in Dhaka city on Thursday.
It will display latest pharmaceutical products, manufacturing and packaging machineries and laboratory supplies from local and international brands.
Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries (BAPI) is organising the event along with GPE Expo Pvt Ltd at International Convention City, Bashundhara.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim inaugurated the expo as chief guest.
State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Zahid Maleque, its Secretary Md Serajul Huq Khan, BAPI Director General Md Mustafizur Rahman, BAPI Secretary General SM Shafiuzzaman and BAPI Adviser Abdul Muktadir, among others, attended the programme.
Over 600 pharmaceutical companies from 30 countries, including USA, China, UK, Germany, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Taiwan and host Bangladesh, are participating in the expo.
The participants will exhibit a wide range of products and services related to pharmaceutical processing and packaging machineries, biotech lab equipments, API and bulk drugs plants and manufacturing, pharmaceutical formulation and contract manufacturing.
The international expo will remain open from 10:00am to 6:00pm every day till February 10.
