The world's leading budget airline Air Asia will operate flights from Sylhet to Malaysia soon.
In this regard, Air Asia's Passenger Sales Agent (PSA) was launched in Sylhet recently. Executive Chairman of Air Asia Datuk Kamaruddin Miranun inaugurated the PSA at Joy Tower of Jail Road area in Sylhet.
In his speech, Chairman of Total Air Service Limited (GSA), Air Asia Limited, KM Mozibul Hoque said Bangladesh is moving forward in aviation sector. Air Asia is committed to increasing its services to passengers.
While addressing the programme, Datuk Kamaruddin Miranun said the business of Air Asia is being successfully managed in Bangladesh. It has the opportunity to expand its coverage.
Chairman of GSA Total Air Service of Air Asia Bangladesh KM Mozibul Hoque and CEO Morshedul Alam Chakladar were also present on the occasion. Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Khandaker Shiper Ahmed was given the responsibility of Air Asia's Sylhet Agent.
Currently, Air Asia operates flights to Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur. It also operates flights to 130 destinations across Asia Pacific. After the operation in 2001, 400 million passengers were transported, according to a statement.
