'Z' category companies soar abnormally

Some 'Z' category companies recently saw unusual rise in share prices despite there is no undisclosed price sensitive information behind such price hikes.

On Tuesday, the share prices of those companies rose ranging between 9.70 per cent and 10 per cent on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

Of the companies, the share price of Zeal Bangla Sugar Mills closed at Tk 108.90 each on Tuesday with a rise of 10 per cent or Tk 9.90.

In last two sessions, the company's share price rose 21 per cent or Tk 18.90.

The share price of Jute Spinners closed at Tk 121.20 each on Tuesday with a rise of 9.99 per cent.

The company's share price soared 25.33 per cent or Tk 24.50 in last four sessions in a row.

Bangladesh Monospool Paper Manufacturing Company was re-listed with the main board on June 13 last.

After re-listing, the company continued abnormal price hike till Tuesday. In last 11 sessions, the company's share price soared 212 per cent or Tk 116.90 to close at Tk 171.90 on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the share price of Savar Refractories closed at Tk 203.20 each with a rise of 9.96 per cent.

The company's share price rose 31.09 per cent or Tk 48.2 in last six sessions in a row.

The share price of Shyampur Sugar Mills closed at Tk 58.60 each on Tuesday with a gain of 9.94 per cent.

In last four sessions, the company's share price soared 32.27 per cent or Tk 14.30.

Paper Processing & Packaging was also re-listed with the main board on June 13 last.

The company's share price continued unusual price hike in last 11 sessions. During the sessions, the company's share soared 208 per cent to close at Tk 54.20 on Tuesday.

The share price of Tamijuddin Textile Mills closed at Tk 40.50 each on Tuesday. This company was also re-listed with the main board on June 13.

After re-listing, the company's share price advanced 207 per cent or Tk 27.30 to close at Tk 40.50 each on Tuesday.
