Two stock brokers--Shakil Rizvi Stock and United Financial Trading Company-- have received FIX (financial information exchange) certification for installing their own order management system (OMS).
The FIX certification was awarded on Wednesday at a ceremony held at the office of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) office situated at Nikunja of the capital Dhaka.
The FIX Certification is the fourth stage of introducing OMS and this certification is awarded as a confirmation of having adequate knowledge on OMS by the brokerage firms.
Dr. Shaikh Shamsuddin Ahmed, a commissioner of the securities regulator, attended the Wednesday's ceremony as the chief guest.
"There is no alternative of the digitalisation of the country's stock market. Stock brokers will work keeping pace with the DSE's OMS through FIX certification," Mr. Ahmed said.
Md. Shakil Rizvi, managing director at Shakil Rizvi Stock, and Abdul Awal, managing director at United Financial Trading Company, received FIX certification award from Mr. Ahmed, the chief guest of the event.
DSE chairman Md. Eunusur Rahman, DSE director Sharif Anwar Hossain, chief operating officer M. Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, among others, were present at the programme held to distribute FIX certification award.
The DSE officials said 35 brokerage firms so far applied for introducing their own OMS as per choice.
The quality of customer services will be enhanced if all brokerage firms introduce their own OMS gradually through API (Application Programming Interface), the DSE officials said.
LankaBangla Securities and City Brokerage recently have received Fix Certification for introducing their own OMS.
