Top 10-traded stocks capture 40pc turnover

Top 10-traded stocks Thursday captured 40.4 per cent of the turnover featured by Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

On the day, the premier bourse featured a turnover of above Tk 5.77 billion.

Beximco topped the turnover chart with a value of Tk 688 million. The company grabbed 11.92 per cent of the turnover featured by the DSE. The company's share price rose 2.24 per cent or Tk 0.7 to close at Tk 32 each. Above 21.64 million shares of the company changed hands through 8,195 trades.

Al-Arafa Islami Bank featured a turnover of Tk 459 million and captured 8.0 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share trading closed at Tk 27.40 with a rise of 9.80 per cent or Tk 2.5 per share. Above 17.33 million shares changed hands through 2,542 trades.

Brac Bank captured 6.0 per cent of the market turnover after featuring a value of Tk 348 million. The company's share price rose 2.68 per cent or Tk 2.3 to close at Tk 87.90 per share.

United Power Generation and Distribution posted a turnover of Tk 180 million and grabbed 3.1 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share trading closed at Tk 178.60 with a loss of 1.67 per cent or Tk 3 per share.

Square Pharmaceuticals featured a turnover of Tk 133 million and grabbed 2.3 per cent of the market turnover. The share price rose 0.58 per cent or Tk 1.8 to close at Tk 315 each.

City Bank captured 2.1 per cent of the market turnover after featuring a value of Tk 120 million. The company's share trading closed at Tk 38.10 with a loss of 1.55 per cent or Tk 0.6 per share.

Of other companies, Grameenphone featured a turnover of Tk 112 million, followed by Ibn Sina Tk 102 million, Usmania Glass Sheet Factory Tk 94 million and Keya Cosmetics Tk 94 million.
