Ten most-traded companies accounted for nearly 40 per cent of transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) this week, with Genex Infosys making it to the top of the chart.
During the week, these 10 companies posted a total turnover of Tk 8.21 billion on the premier bourse.
Of the companies, nine witnessed price corrections ranging from 0.24 per cent to 16.26 per cent while remaining one inched up 0.17 per cent.
Genex Infosys, the turnover leader, contributed 8.06 per cent to the weekly market turnover.
During the week, the company's share price declined 10.43 per cent to close at Tk 97.90 each on Thursday.
Orion Pharma came second on the turnover list, generating Tk 1.17 billion, which is 5.70 per cent of the weekly market turnover.
The drug maker's share price slumped 7.28 per cent this week to close at Tk 86.60 each.
Bashundhara Paper Mills secured the third spot with a turnover of Tk 986.23 million, contributing 4.77 per cent to the weekly turnover.
The company's share price plunged 16.26 per cent this week and closed at Tk 90.10 each on Thursday, placing it on the chart of weekly top losers on the DSE.
Navana Pharmaceuticals posted a turnover of Tk 855.29 million, grabbing 4.14 per cent of the weekly market turnover.
During the week, the company's share price declined 10 per cent to finish at Tk 90.90 each.
The share price of Padma Islami Life Insurance advanced 0.17 per cent in last week and closed at Tk 57.50 each. It has clocked a turnover of Tk 780.83 million, making up 3.78 per cent of the weekly market turnover.
Eastern Housing grabbed 3.22 per cent of the market turnover, featuring a value of Tk 666.73 million.
During the week, the company's share price declined 10.29 per cent to Tk 83.70 each on Thursday.
