Stocks performed mixed with major indices finishing flat on Monday.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day 5.81 points down at 6,280.72. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES closed the day with 2.53 points up at 2,228.80 and with 0.80 point up at 1,369.01.
The day's trade value at DSE decreased to Taka 5808.19 million from Sunday's Taka 7527.48 million, according to BSS.
At DSE, out of the day's 345 securities, prices of 22 securities closed higher against 155 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were SONALIANSH, SEAPEARL, MONOSPOOL, NORTHRNINS and BEACONPHAR. The major losing companies were OIMEX, PRAGATILIF, RELIANCINS, POPULARLIF and BETHAIFOOD.
BSC topped the turnover list followed by GENEXIL, SP Ceramics, SEAPEARL and Orion Pharma.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with a downward trend with its major CASPI 52.46 points down at 18,534.39.
At CSE, 147 issues were traded. Of those, 21 closed higher and 64 closed lower when 1.271 million shares worth Tk 73.1 million changed hands.
