As indexes at both stock markets continue falling, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) called an emergency meeting on Monday afternoon to discuss the overall situation.
The meeting will be held at the office of Eunusur Rahman, senior secretary to the Financial Institution Division, at the Bangladesh Secretariat.
Representatives from Bangladesh Bank, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and Investment Corporation of Bangladesh have been invited to attend the meeting to find a way out of this situation.
Mr Rahman told the FE on the telephone that the government has been keeping constant contact with the stock market regulator as the situation arises.
Following the unveiling of the new monetary policy last week where banks' advanced and deposit ratio saw a revision, indexes in both Dhaka and Chittagong stock markets continue falling.
During the last couple of days, the bourses saw a big amount of point loss.
