National Tea Company recommends 22pc dividend

The board of directors of National Tea Company Ltd has recommended 22 per cent cash dividend for the year ended on June 30, 2019, said an official disclosure on Monday.

The final approval of the dividend will come during the annual general meeting (AGM) scheduled to be held on December 24 in Dhaka.

The record date is November 19, 2019.

The company has also reported EPS of Tk 20.24, NAV per share of Tk. 174.24, and NOCFPS of Tk. 2.12 for the year ended on June 30, 2019 as against Tk. 16.08, Tk. 156.20 (revised), and Tk. 33.00 respectively for the same period of the previous year.

In 2018, the company also disbursed 22 per cent cash dividend.

There will be no price limit on the trading of the shares of the company today (Monday) following its corporate declaration.

Each share of the company, which was listed on the Dhaka bourse in 1979, closed at Tk 629.20 each on Sunday.

The company’s paid-up capital is Tk 66 million and authorised capital is Tk 250 million, while the total number of securities is 6.60 million.

The sponsor-directors own 50.74 per cent stake in the company while the government owns 4.33 per cent, institutional investors own 7.14 per cent and the general public 37.79 per cent as on September 30, 2019, the DSE data shows.
