The listed local cement companies showed mixed performance for the October-December period of 2018, compared to the same period of the previous year.
Of the five companies, Premier Cement Mills has posted the highest growth in EPS (earnings per share).
The company's EPS jumped 233 per cent to Tk 0.70 during the three-month period of 2018. The figure was Tk 0.21 for the October-December period of 2017.
The company has reported its consolidated EPS of Tk 1.74 for July-December of 2018 as against Tk 0.62 for July-December of 2017.
The consolidated NAV per share was Tk 43.85 as on December 31, 2018 and Tk 43.13 as on June 30, 2018.
The Meghna Cement Mills also saw its EPS rise 93.33 per cent to Tk 0.29 for October-December of 2018 from Tk 0.15 for October-December of 2017.
The company's EPS was Tk 0.73 for July-December of 2018 as against Tk. 0.35 for July-December of 2017. The NAV per share was Tk 35.58 as on December 31, 2018 and Tk. 34.85 as on June 30, 2018.
The EPS of MI Cement also edged up to Tk 0.31 for October-December of 2018 from Tk 0.26 in October-December of 2017.
The company's EPS for July-December period of 2018 was Tk 0.78 as against Tk 0.73 for the same period of 2017.
Its NAV per share was Tk 47.28 as on December 31, 2018 and Tk 47.98 as on June 30, 2018.
The EPS of Confidence Cement for October-December period of 2018 stood at Tk 1.07, down from Tk 1.75 for the same period of 2017.
The company's EPS was Tk 2.58 for July-December 2018 as against Tk 2.99 for July-December 2017.
Its NAV per share was Tk 64.76 as on December 31, 2018 and Tk 76.00 as on June 30, 2018.
Aramit Cement witnessed a loss of Tk 1.84 per share for October-December 2018 as against the loss of Tk 0.82 per share for October-December 2017.
The company also reported a loss of Tk 3.95 per share for July-December 2018 as against the loss of Tk 2.55 per share for July-December 2017.
Its NAV per share was Tk 2.04 as on December 31, 2018 and Tk 6.00 as on June 30, 2018.
However, two multinational companies -- Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh and LafargeHolcim Bangladesh -- are yet to publish their quarterly statements for October-December 2018.
The year-end date of both the companies is December 31.
