Fareast Islami Life Insurance holds 21st AGM

Fareast Islami Life Insurance Company Ltd held its 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually on Wednesday (yesterday). 

Dr Md Rahmat Ullah, chairman of the Fareast Islami Life Insurance Company Ltd, presided over the AGM, said a press release. 

The board members approved the company’s audited accounts for the year ended December 31, 2020, in the meeting. 

The AGM disclosed that the company earned a premium of Tk 9.74 billion in 2020. 

The chairman in his address mentioned that due to financial irregularities and corruption, the BSEC dissolved the entire Board on September 01, 2021. And for the interest of the investors, policyholders and capital market, it has appointed nine independent directors and formed a new Board, which is doing its best to streamline the management and improve the business. 

A large number of members participated in the meeting and appreciated the initiatives taken by the independent directors. They also suggested some measures to develop the company’s business.
