The Dhaka bourse closed the Sunday’s session with a sharp fall as investors’ participation in share trading declined significantly.
The market started the session negatively and the declining trend continued till the closure on Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). The DSE broad index DSEX witnessed no strong recovery throughout the whole session.
At the end of the session, the DSEX closed at 5,773.36 points with a loss of 0.93 per cent or 54.62 points. The shariah-based index DSES and blue chip index DS30 also declined marginally.
Of total number of issues traded, 53 advanced, 246 declined and 31 were unchanged on the premier bourse DSE.
The turnover value stood at above Tk 2.36 billion which was 13.58 per cent less than the turnover of the previous session.
Monno Ceramic topped the scrip-wise turnover chart with a value of Tk 112 million followed by CVO Petrochemical Refinery, Beximco Pharmaceuticals and LankaBangla Finance.
