Confidence Cement Ltd has declared 35 per cent dividend (15 per cent cash and 20 per cent bonus) for its shareholders for the year ended on 30 June, 2018.
The 27th annual general meeting (AGM) of the Confidence Cement Ltd was held on Sunday on the factory premises of the company at Madambibirhat, Bhatiary, Sitakunda in the district.
With the net turnover of Tk 3,916 million the company recorded the earning of Tk 374 million. The company achieved EPS (earning per share) of Tk 6.93 per share for the year. The shareholders in discussion in the AGM expressed satisfaction over the performance of the company, with expectation that the company's management would exert its best efforts to maintain upward trend of its growth.
Rupam Kishor Barua and Salman Karim, directors who retire by rotation, were re-elected in the meeting. Zahir Uddin Ahmed has been accorded consent as managing director of the company for a period of three years with effect from 1 February 2018 while M/s Rahman Mostafa Alam & Co., Chartered Accountants, has been appointed as the statutory auditors of the company for the next term. M/s Ahmed Zaker & Co., Chartered Accountants, has been appointed as the corporate governance compliance auditors of the company for the next term.
With Engineer Rezaul Karim, chairman of the company in the chair, Rupam Kishor Barua (vice chairman), Imran Karim (vice chairman), Shah Muhammed Hasan, (director), Runu Anwar (director), Salman Karim (director), Shamsul Alam BU (director), AZM Sazzadur Rahman (independent director), Zahir Uddin Ahmed (managing director) and a large number of shareholders attended the meeting.
Newaz Mohammed Iqbal Yousuf (chief financial officer) Abdullah Al Mahmud (advisor), ABM Iftekhar Alam Siddique (general manager - sales and marketing), Md Sohel Talukder (general manager - plant) and Md Delowar Hossain ACS, company secretary were also present in the meeting.
