Tigresses clinch Asia Cup T20 title beating India

Bangladesh have clinched Women's Asia Cup T20 trophy with a 3-wicket win over mighty India in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

In a nail biting finish in the last ball of the innings, all-rounder Jahanara Alam hit the required two runs down the mid wicket.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss but opted to field first and did it in a disciplined way, restricting India to 112-9 in 20 overs.

Rumana Ahmed and Khadija Tul Kobra were the best bowlers with picking up two wickets apiece, while Jahanara and Salma claimed one each.

In reply, Bangladesh openers Ayasha Rahman and Shamima Sultana started cautiously and made a partnership of 35 in the seventh over before getting out in two successive deliveries from Indian leg spinner Poonam.

With the historical win, Bangladesh won the trophy for the first time. India had won all the last six editions of the tournament.
