Tigers get comfortable win in first ODI against South Africa

Tigers have won the first match of three-match ODI series against South Africa by 38 runs at Super Sports Park in Centurion in South Africa on Friday.

Batting first, Bangladesh set a 315-run target for the hosts, losing seven wickets in 50 overs.

Shakib Al Hasan and Yasir Ali helped Bangladesh put up 314 runs. The pair added 115 runs for the fourth wicket, Bangladesh's highest partnership for any wicket in all formats in the country, according to espncricinfo.com.

The hosts managed to score 276 runs, losing all wickets in 48.5 overs.

After winning the toss in the match, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma asked Bangladesh to bat first.

None of the South Africa bowlers put their mark on the Bangladesh innings. Particularly Ngidi, who went for 75 in his ten overs, the most by a South African bowler against Bangladesh. Maharaj and Jansen took two wickets each but apart from a bit of short bowling, nothing troubled Bangladesh with the bat.
