Comilla Victorians stumbled on to a massive 95 runs victory against Dhaka Dynamites in the first qualifier in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 at Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.
The Victorians will now take on Rangpur Riders on Sunday at the same venue.
Earlier, after winning the toss and electing to bat first, Shakib Al Hasan led Dhaka Dynamites posted a colossal score of 191 runs for loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs.
Evin Lewis of Dhaka was the top scorer with 47 runs (32b, 4sX6, 6sX3) while Jon Denly and Kieron Pollard chipped in with 32 and 31 runs respectively.
Shahid Afridi also played an entertaining innings of 30 runs off 19 deliveries.
Hasan Ali of Comilla picked up 3 wickets for 16 runs in 4 overs.
In reply, Tamim Iqbal led Victorians got crushed under the pile of runs and strict bowling by the Dynamites.
Tamim top scored for the Victorians with 31 runs off 28 balls (4sX3, 6sX1).
Afridi took 3 wickets for 16 runs while Shakib and Mosaddek took 2 wickets each.
Afrdi was adjudged Man-of-the-match for his all-round performance.
