Rangpur breeze past Sylhet, Comilla crush Khulna

Rangpur Riders beat Sylhet Sixers by four wickets in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Cricket Stadium in Chittagong on Tuesday.

Rangpur chased down a target of 174 runs scoring 177 for 6 in 19.4 overs with Nahidul Islam firing a boundary in the match's last ball.

Brendon McCullum was the top scorer with 43 off 38 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes.

Ziaur Rahman scored 36 off 18 balls, including five boundaries and two sixes, while Ravi Bopara scored 33 off 24 balls.

Abul Hasan, Nabil Samad, Tim Bresnan and Sohail Tanvir bagged one wicket each conceding 25, 31, 40 and 44 runs respectively for the losing side, reports UNB.

Sent in to bat first, Sylhet Sixers scored 173 for 5 in 20 overs with Babar Azam hitting a half century of 54 off 37 balls, including four boundaries and one six.

Sabbir scored 44 off 37 balls for the Sixers. Andre Fletcher scored 26 off 17 balls Ross Whiteley and Tim Bresnan scored 17* and 11* runs respectively.

Man of the match Nazmul Islam captured three wickets for 18 runs while Mashrafe took one for 39 runs. Both bowled four overs each.

Meanwhile in the second match of the day, Comilla Victorians crushed Khulna Titans by nine wickets at the same venue.

Comilla chased down 112 for 1 in 13.5 overs spurred with the skipper Tamim Iqbal's unbeaten half century of 64* off 42 balls, including 12 boundaries.

Batting first after winning the toss, Khulna Titans 111 runs for all in 19.2 overs.

Kyle Abbott and Shafiul Islam scored 16 runs each while skipper Mahmudullah Riyad and Carlos Brathwaite added 14 and 13 runs respectively.

Man of the match Shoaib Malik captured three wickets for 14 runs in three overs while Al-Amin bagged another three-wicket for 20 runs in four overs.
