Footballers Sabina, Rani get Indian visa

Sabina Khatun and Krishna Rani Sarkar, players of Bangladesh women's football, on Sunday were granted visa to participate in Indian Women's League.

They were granted visa when they met Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla, an Indian embassy statement said.

Earlier, Sabina Khatun, captain of Bangladesh Women's Football Team, and Krishna Rani Sarkar, a member of the current National Women's Football Team, were rejected visas by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Saturday.

The footballers thanked the High Commissioner for granting them visas on an immediate basis so that they can participate in the Indian Women's League football matches.

Wishing them the very best in their careers both in India and Bangladesh, the High Commissioner said he was confident that the winning streak by Bangladesh women's team would be replicated wherever Sabina Khatun and Krishna Rani Sarkar played, reports BSS.
