Cricketers go on strike for pay hike

Bangladesh national team cricketers have announced to go on strike demanding a pay hike in domestic cricketing for the first time in the cricket history of Bangladesh.

The cricketers made the announcement at a press conference at the National Cricket Academy Ground in the city on Monday, report UNB and bdnews24.com.

Bangladesh Test and T20 captain Shakib Al Hasan placed the demands of the cricketers at the press conference.

Shakib said they will abstain from all cricket-related activities until their 11-point demand, including salary hike, are met by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Besides, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudllah Riyad, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Arafat Sunny, Junaid Siddique, Enamul Haque Jnr, Taskin Ahmed, Elias Sunny, Farhad Reza and some other cricketers were present at the press conference.
