Country's first sports radio starts journey

The inaugural programme of Radio Edge 95.6.

Radio Edge 95.6, the first ever sports FM radio of the country, has started its journey.

Bangladesh National ODI Cricket Team Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza inaugurated the FM radio on Monday evening.

The inaugural programme was held at its office at Navana Tower in Gulshan area of Dhaka, a local media reports.

National Football Team Captain Mamunul Islam, National Hockey Team Captain Rassel Mahmud Jimy and weightlifting player Mabia Akhter Simanta, who won gold, were, among others, present at the inaugural ceremony.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Mashrafe said observed that country’s players will be encouraged through the opening of such media.

“I will request the authorities of the Radio Edge that you will not only highlight cricket and football but you will also highlight all the games,” Mashrafe added.

Managing Director of Radio Edge Shafkat Samiur Rahman, Director Ashiq Ahmed and Mirza Shiblee were present at the function.
